WhatsApp gives you another way to interact with an Avatar agent. With Personal WhatsApp, you send messages to your own Avatar from the WhatsApp app on your phone. With WhatsApp Business Cloud API, your business can use an Avatar agent to handle customer conversations through its WhatsApp channel.

The two connections support different workflows. Personal WhatsApp is for your conversations with Avatar. The Cloud API is for customer interactions with your business.

Before you start, decide whether you want to message your own Avatar through WhatsApp or make an agent available to customers through your business WhatsApp channel.

How to Set Up Personal WhatsApp in Avatar

Connect Personal WhatsApp to bring your Avatar into your WhatsApp chats. You can text your Avatar much as you would on the web or in the Avatar mobile app.

Use a dedicated phone number for this connection. This keeps the number separate from your regular personal messaging.

To connect:

Log in to Avatar.
Go to My Avatar Bots and click Chat with Agent for your agent.
In the right pane, scroll down to Integrations and Plugins.
Click WhatsApp, then Request QR code for link.
Scan the QR code with WhatsApp on your mobile device.

Once connected, you can message your Avatar through WhatsApp.

How to Set Up WhatsApp Business Cloud API in Avatar

Connect WhatsApp Business Cloud API to let customers interact with your Avatar agent through your business’s WhatsApp channel. This can support customer service, sales, and marketing conversations. For example, an agent can help with customer enquiries and interactions before handing a conversation off to a human agent.

To set up the connection, you’ll need your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) ID, Phone Number ID, and Meta Access Token.

Then:

Log in to Avatar.
Go to My Avatar Bots and click Chat with Agent for your agent.
In the right pane, scroll down to Integrations and Plugins.
Click WhatsApp Business (Cloud API), then select Continue.
Enter your Meta Access Token, Phone Number ID, and WABA ID.
Click Connect WhatsApp.
